“It all began when I started designing my house a couple of years before I even considered a business idea. The more I worked on renovating our home, the more I became engrossed in the challenge of creating intricate finish work. I found myself increasingly drawn to custom wood designs, and I couldn’t get enough of the satisfaction of the challenge. This, in turn, led me to continue purchasing more tools for my growing investment.
I finished renovating our house in mid-fall of 2020 and began to develop the idea of doing similar projects in my free time for others after the start of the new year. As time passed, I finally published my idea as a small business on Google in March of 2021, and it took off quickly. At this point, I started taking on side jobs on my days off, and I found myself busier than I had ever imagined.
Despite the increased workload, I found immense joy in designing and building things for people. This joy began to question my desire to continue working my current career. Meanwhile, I was contemplating the possibility of taking a completely different career path in the middle of my adult life, which seemed a bit impulsive.
Considering the magnitude of such a change, especially with the significant investment I had made, and the potential consequences of a questionable decision, I realized that I would never truly be satisfied with any other option. The only thing I didn’t know was that it would pay off. This experience taught me the meaning of the phrase “high risk equals high reward.”
With a clear sense of purpose, I decided to take the chance and leave my 12-year career with the State of Florida, secure in my retirement and with great health insurance. I embarked on this new journey in mid-May of 2021, starting with small projects and pursuing as much knowledge as possible.
Over the past few years, we have continued to grow as we gained experience and expanded our skills.
In 2022, we established a new workshop to expand our business venture and capabilities, increasing the volume of projects with a five-man field crew.
In 2023, we expanded our team to eight staff members, starting a second full-time field crew.
In 2024, we grew into a new office, hiring our secretary and two additional staff members.
Now, in 2025, we began the year by expanding our operations into four full-time field crews. We now employ approximately 15 staff members, having completed our fourth year in business.
Throughout this growth, we have remained committed to maintaining the core values and vision that drove our initial idea. We strive to create high-quality craftsmanship that is uncommon in our modern society. I can confidently say that this is no easy task, but we persist in this endeavor with every project we undertake. We never stop learning, as the passion that ignited our journey would otherwise fade away.”
